We hope you had a great Easter break with your family and that the Easter Bunny visited your ickle kids!  We've been really busy since our last newsletter with various markets, ickle parties, internet orders and I had my inlaws from England visit for 6 weeks! As you can imagine, it has been a bit crazy over here! Here is a snippet of what we've been up to.

Mathilda’s Market …

ickle Kids was part of Mathilda's Market - a great boutique market for children in Melbourne.  There were so many wonderful things for sale and I was proud to be part of this fabulous niche market.  Thank you to those who came up and said hello and for giving me some great feedback on our products ... we're glad to hear that you love them as much as we do!

Our brain teaser games - Cat and Mouse, Hide and Seek Pirates and Camouflage Games sold like hot cakes! There was such a buzz about them - customers kept saying "I haven't seen these fantastic games before" and "its great to see games that encourage children to think!" They then told their friends at the market who also came along and bought some! We also sold out of our Magnetic Fishing Game, which was on the ickle play table - it definitely entertained the kids whilst their parents and grandparents were shopping.

We had a great day chatting to our customers and we can’t wait for the next Mathilda’s Market, which will be held in November (but don't worry, we will keep you updated closer to the time!).  Also for our interstate readers, there could be a Mathilda's Market near you, click here for more information. I would really recommend a visit to this market as there are some amazing stall holders with original toys, gifts, clothes, and much more - a fun day out for the family!

Ickle Tips from customers ...

Thank you to those who emailed us their favourite car travel games.  Here are some of them …

“The number plate game always kept my grandkids busy. Who can spot the number one on the number plate, then two etc and it would get harder once it got to 20.  You could make it easier for little ones by using house numbers, bus numbers etc”
Julia, SA.

“Story telling with a twist.  One person starts the story off and the next person adds a sentence to the story, and everyone takes their turns to add their bits … soon enough, you will have a very funny story!  A great way of passing some time in the car that everyone can join in on.” Samantha, WA.

“Using the letters from car numbers plates to make up silly sentences always kept our kids busy.  For example, CLF could be “chickens love fudge”. Fran, Vic.

“We photocopy a map of where we are going for each child and we give them a pen/crayon to mark off our starting point.  They can track where we are along the way and the question of “are we there yet?” is a lot easier to answer!” Sue, Vic

'Til next time …
